Four Different Types Of Aerial Photography

Photography is one of important and popular means of collecting the memory of the past. It is a simple way to capture the past time. In the previous year’s films were used in a camera. But the advancement in the technology has helped in the development of a digital camera. Photography is of different types. One of such type is the aerial photography. It provides the bird view of an object or site or even a location. Photographs are taken from the sky. Industries such as real estate, vineyards, perform survey of landscapes, military and much more. Aerial photography is mainly four types depending on the way how they are photographed.

• Balloon Aerial photography: In this type of photography a big balloon is used with mounted cameras in it. Taking photo with this method takes a lot of time and accuracy that we want is hardly achieved. Photo cannot be taken from high altitudes. It is useful for the low altitudes.
• Kite Aerial photography: A big kite is used with different mounted cameras in it. This method is quite similar to Balloon Aerial photography. Photos cannot be taken from high altitudes. It is not much popular because the accuracy of the photograph is hardly achieved.
• Manned Helicopter Aerial photography: In this type of photography a helicopter is used which is operated by a pilot. A photographer is also accompanied him to take the photograph from desired altitude. Accuracy is achieved using this method. But the major disadvantage of this type of photography is that it is so expensive and the helicopter will make a lot of noise. Photograph cannot be clicked from lower altitude.
• Unmanned Radio Controlled Aerial photography: In this method an unmanned helicopter is used and the camera is mounted in it. This method is cost effective and the accuracy of the photograph is highest. This method is widely used in the current era because of its accuracy of the photograph.

The people who take the aerial photograph are known as aerial photographers. To find good aerial photographers you must perform some research as per the requirement. We must know both the advantage and disadvantage of each type of photography before choosing the best one which suits us.

Why Do You Need Aerial Photographs?

There can be different types of photograph that we can have.  Such as portrait, wedding, fashion, action, event, food, wildlife, aerial etc. A person who does the work of clicking the photograph is known as photographer. To take a photograph we use different types of cameras. The camera varies in shape, size and the types of lens it has. Depending on the photo quality of the camera, the cost varies. One of the most significant features of the camera is its lens. Its magnitude is measured in mega pixels. More will be the magnitude; better will be the quality and clarity of the photo. In the old days cameras used a film. But now the digital cameras are available in market and become so popular. A digital camera does not use any film.

Photographs taken of the ground surface location from different helicopter, aircraft, spacecraft or even a rocket provide us the bird view of the location. These photographs will be called aerial photographs. The people who take these photographs are known as aerial photographers. Aerial photograph can be either direct vertical or oblique horizontal. These photographs are very useful for us. It is widely used in different sectors such as in real estate, military, small and large scale business organizations, government etc. It is very useful to generate the satellite image of any location. We can study the shape size of any large building which is not clearly visible from ground level. Thus it provides a significant role in the field of construction and real estate business.

There are different companies which uses new technology in order to generate the clear and beautiful images. They generally use a small aircraft or a helicopter which will fly just around the 2000 or even less than that to take the photo. Light weighted and small aircrafts are preferred in spite of a large aircraft. These aircrafts are sometimes controlled with remote also.  Sometimes they even take help of different software to modify the image. Advancement in technology has helped a lot in order to made aerial photography so popular and convenient.

Now in the current era, aerial photography is become so popular that it used in many situations such as wedding, tourism, surveying different location, shooting of movies, festivals and many more. Skilled and experienced aerial photographer may charge a lot of amount but we must choose the one which is in our budget and we can afford it. The quality of the photo is very high as we cannot compromise on the quality of the photos. The photographer must be chosen carefully as per our need.
