Show and Shine

For the last 17 years VW Transporter fans from all over the world have congregated at the Malvern Showground in Worcestershire, United Kingdom for the annual three-day VW extravaganza – VANFEST. The 2013 edition of the festival, that is scheduled to be conducted between September 7 and 9, now rebranded as BUSFEST, promises to be the biggest and best VW show in the entire UK. There are many attractions for the VW enthusiasts and their families during the three-day extravaganza; these include a ‘Show and Shine competition, hundreds of trade stalls, fun fairs, tuning workshops, opportunities for buying and selling vehicles as well as plenty of activities to keep your family engaged and entertained even if they are not VW buffs.

VANFEST is now BUSFEST

In the 18th edition of the VW festival, VANFEST, the name under which the event had become famous, now changes to BUSFEST with the withdrawal of the brand name rights by the owners. However, everything, even the logo, remains the same but the event is bigger, brighter and livelier. BUSFEST 2012 is being organised and conducted by the same people who have successfully organised the VW show over the last 17 years making it the most well-known even of its kind in the country.

The 2012 show being held in September from the 7th to the 9th expects to attract more than 25000 visitors and vehicles in excess of 8000. Some of the biggest names in the motor industry will be displaying their products and services in the 300-odd trade stalls that are slated to be one of the prime attractions of the event. The VW fanatic can participate in the many competitions that are structured to enable them show off their vehicles or their driving skills. If you think that you have a VW that others will envy, be sure to be there at BUSFEST 2012. One of the most spectacular events is the ‘Show and Shine that attracts hundreds of participants with their gleaming VW Transporters in virtually every colour and customisation option that you can imagine. The vehicles are absolutely spick and span and you can be assured there would not be even a speck of dust on their shining bodies let alone mud on their specially-cleaned tyres. Coming up close with the vehicles and their owners you would know why the VW Transporter and the Camper revolutionised the way an entire generation, and more, viewed recreational vehicles.

To really enjoy BUSFEST, we suggest that you book early. Perhaps the best way of enjoying the VW festival is to camp on the extensive Malvern showground – camping lots are available with every conceivable facility on the ground. Once you enter you will find everything available including provisions and even cash. However, in view of the very heavy demand the only way to get a camping unit is to book in advance – spot arrivals at the gate cannot be catered to. There are also daily and season tickets available for the off-campus visitors.

BUSFEST is a family affair; children and even pets are welcome. To keep everybody entertained there are a whole host of activities that can keep everybody engaged throughout the day and then in the evenings too. We can only suggest that you come once – you’ll be hooked for life! We promise!

Why Do Men Love Cars, Show and Shine?

Muscle Car

There are a few things that satiate our desires like nothing else. The love for cars is one of those. In fact it is sometimes so intense that it turns into a passion or obsession. The roar of the engine, the smooth glide, the turn of the steering wheel is something that gives them an awesome experience. A long ride on the highway with the golden rays of the setting sun throws up a magical feeling of riding in a wonderland.

Why Do Men Love Cars So Much?

It is a well known fact that men are fond of their cars more than women. The reason is obvious – men love to control something and cars are the perfect answer. The power of a vehicle is something that gives them a rush of adrenaline, their mind becomes alert and the hands grip on the steering wheel. It is a worthwhile experience given men spends so much time and money on their machines. They love the adventure and the sense of freedom that cars give them. Cars also feed their instincts with a certain degree of pleasure and provide them with a sort of social recognition that ultimately makes them fall in love with their vehicles. The curves, the power, the speed, the elegance and yet submissive is all that men look for in women. Cars are a way out to express their passions and so some men are more in love with their cars than with women.

The Deep Psychology behind It

Men are looking for something that is an extension of their personalities. Cars provide them that and thus men fall in love with their cars than women. Women on the other hand find their homes to be far more attractive than their cars. Men feel at ease with their cars to which they have nothing to prove. They feel completely their cars to be fully trustworthy. They would talk to their cars that are good listeners and share with them their innermost thoughts. It is this for which men look for curves in a car which they would attempt to in a woman. They also try to identify themselves with their cars and prefer high profile, fast and expensive models.

It Says All

Cars are objects of affection for men. Research has revealed that men will spend more time learning about their cars than they do about their women. This cannot be only because women are hard to read but also that cars provide them with the statistics of the engine, the power, the torque and the feel of being in control. For some men then cars are thus more preferable to women.

People go to car shows at three counties showground and love the show and shine of the event. After all it is about their beloved cars.
